Calling someone a redskin yes does refer to Indians but how come in paintings of them they have on red or white paint if they have worn it then whats so bad about referencing it

See that's just it if there was a team that made fun of Whites we wouldn't care because its funny or OK because we know its just a team but then you make a team called the Indians it starts a world wide controversy

I see what your saying but its not racial slurs its just a team name and there supporting the Indians not making fun of them their just saying that the Indians are strong and prideful we have green bay packers but say someone gets fired from there do you really think there going to change because a few people say they. just look out of the people check who really cares about the name because according to a bunch of sites only 1819 people sign the pation when they 20000 so it is showing it is fine have that name/mascot

They say that it should but I say they shouldn't because some tribes are OK with it maybe its just a few people blowing up a little thing therefor The schools should be allowed to keep the names/mascots

Most do get permissions but say they asked one tribe that its OK with it but the others not well if you have a problem with then go to the tribe that said its ok

It can be offensive to some but others Believe its strong for them to sow how much pride is into it.There is a man named Steve Bobb SR who's on the tribal council and they Believe it is happy and proud the school is showing off the strength and dignity of the idians

I believe that not all are offended and some are proud like a Michigan local high school team has gotten the OK from the local tribe leader Frank Cloutier head of the Gaginnaw Chippew tribe has the OK and they think that it honors them.
